What We Do
Midwest Access Coalition (MAC) is a practical abortion fund that helps people traveling to, from, and within the Midwest to access a safe, legal abortion.
We offer support in the following areas:
travel coordination and costs
lodging
food
medicine
child care
Currently, people who live in the Midwest can receive up to $80 for completing three brief confidential, online surveys from research partners at Indiana University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Ibis Reproductive Health. This study is for residents of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

MAC can provide assistance with travel, lodging, food, medicine, childcare, emotional care, and more. We do this by researching travel routes, booking and paying for your bus/train/plane tickets, booking and paying for hotel or volunteer host accommodations, providing rides through rideshare companies or volunteer drivers, and providing money for meals and childcare.
MAC does not provide financial assistance for abortion procedures, but can work to connect you with abortion procedure funds you may qualify for.
Check out our Services page for more information.

Crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) are fake healthcare clinics that exist to divert pregnant people away from abortion care, often using misleading advertising and medical information.
While CPC’s may offer free pregnancy testing or ultrasound services, their goal is to talk individuals out of having an abortion. They often use misinformation, scare tactics, and shame to discourage people from abortion. They do not provide medical care of any kind.
You can check whether or not your clinic is a crisis pregnancy center with Ineedana’s Clinic Checker tool.
